The overall HomeCentric's verdict for the GranPappy Electric Deep Fryer is that it is a simple, convenient, compact fryer for your home.  The scoop enables you to drain grease from your food before putting it on your plate.  The internal thermostat automatically maintains the right temperature so you don’t need to worry about constantly adjusting.

The name alone makes you think of the good old days and the look brings back memories of being in Grandma and Grandpa’s kitchen.  This heavy-duty cast aluminum fryer uses 1500 watts to fry up your favorite foods.  The bucket-style design is compact and fits nicely on the kitchen countertop.  This deep fryer is very simple to use; just pour in oil, plug it in, and after the oil is heated (approximately 15 minutes) you are ready to fry.  You can fry six servings in just six cups of oil.  An internal thermostat is designed to keep the oil at the optimum frying temperature for delicious, crispy, deep fried foods. The GranPappy Electric Deep Fryer comes with a slotted scoop to drain your food before scooping it out.  This unit also comes with a snap-on lid for storage.

A short power supply cord is included to minimize risk of entanglement or tripping over the cord.  The unit has skid-resistant rubber feet which improve stability.  A magnetic plug is designed for easy detachment in case the unit is accidentally pulled.  When the unit is hot, only grasp the plastic grip in the middle part of the handle.  If you touch the aluminum part of the handle, you may burn your hands.

It is recommended that you wash all parts before using the deep fryer for the first time.  Be sure to remove the plug before cleaning the unit.  Never immerse the fryer in water or put it in the dishwasher.  Wash the fryer and the scoop with warm, soapy water.  Use a mild detergent.  You should not use abrasive kitchen cleaners or steel wool scouring pads on this unit.  They may damage the non-stick finish.  Every so often clean the inside of the fryer with a commercial cleaner that is made for non-stick surfaces.  Be sure to dry thoroughly after washing because oil and water do not mix well when frying!
